Hexagons

South West Mosaic Artists are spearheading a mosaic project inspired by The Sager Mosaics Ruins Project in Pennsylvania. Rachel Sager of the Ruins Project has developed a micro mosaic technique that she calls ‘intuitivemalmischiato’. She has invited mosaic artists from around the world to experiment with her technique and send the results to be installed in her project.

South West Artists have made work for her project and have taken this idea and developed it by using 3D printed hexagons to contain the micro mosaic. The hexagons will be made by all artists participating in our exhibitions and will be exhibited together.

I made these three hexagons for the forthcoming exhibition in Symondsbury in Spring 2021

Hand pulled filati, glass stringers, glass rods, 3D printed substrate (environmentally friendly material).
